Tell us about how you first started gigging.

I was always the lead guitarist of a rock band. After taking some time off, I was asked to play an open-mic. I put together an intricate guitar piece for the event. After playing, the guy after me played a couple chords and sang. He got a much better response, and I decided, then, to learn how to sing. I then put down my electric, picked up the acoustic and started my journey as a singer-songwriter.
