How do you describe your music to people?

Hmmm. Definitely conscious. I’m still with the cool stuff that ya young people are into, but definitely on the realistic, everyday life and all-around relatable kind of vibe.

Tell us about how you first started gigging.

I always rapped, but I think once I started to get a little older, I really started to get into it, just trying to find myself, ya know, find my lane. From there, it was a go! I think mom started seeing it, and we started putting things together.

Tell us about your best gig in Sac.

I did the Black Lives Matter show last year, and it was pretty lit! Some well put-together, powerful and influential artists, and the crowd was dope.

Tell us about your worst gig.

I had an out-of-town show, and it just wasn’t ready, lol... The mics just weren’t put together, and I don’t know if the DJ was for sure a DJ! Lol, definitely went in the books.

What artist or band are you a little embarrassed to love, and why?

I like Sarah Bareilles, lol. I’m not even sure if that’s how you spell it but she go crazy, lmao.

What's next for you?

A lot of visuals, a lot more visuals. I got some shows that’ll be coming and everything else... Well, you’ll just have to stay tuned, follow me on my social media accounts.

What's the story behind your stage name?

I took the name after my mom's, so she’s Marvaless and I’m lil Marv, lol.

What's your favorite local artist/group?

I got a few. I’m always rockin' with my sis Karasi Rhymes. Y’all should check her out. I also like CardoKing, he’s raw! My boy Lg, Cartiertre... I got a few, lol.

Who are your biggest influences?

Marvaless, PAC, Nas, Kendrick , Cole.

Who first inspired you to play music?

My mom was/is the one who ever made me wanna rap.
