What's the story behind the band name?

We were in a karaoke/cover band called the Shitty Ramones. At one point, we toyed with calling that band the Shitty Ramoans. When we decided to start writing our own sci-fi & horror-themed rock 'n' roll songs, the MOANS just made sense.
