Q & A

As a child growing up, music surrounds us. What type of music did you hear the most back then? How does it differ from what you listen to now?

Music has always been apart of life, growing up my father would play all the old school classics like the Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, George Clinton, Sugar Hill Gang, Michael Jackson, and the list goes on! Out of all the music that was playing I enjoyed listening to Rap Music the most. My favorite artists were Tupac, Snoop Dogg, Notorious B.I.G, Jay-Z, and Nas. I use bump Bone Thugs and Wu-Tang Hard! I feel like there was more passion in the music back then. Artist took the culture, lyrics, and perfecting their craft more seriously. You had to be dope!

Do you have regular gigs around town?

Yes. I have regular gigs around town. I try to do a show once a month in the Sacramento area! I also travel out of town. I perform all around the Bay in Oakland, SF and San Jose. I perform a lot in LA as well and just recently in Queens, New York! Just trying spread the LOVE!

Favorite guitar player?

Prince playing "Purple Rain" … Legendary

I like musical award competitions! We’re having fun doing what we love to do … Nothing but Love!

If you were a movie, what movie would you be?

Rap Ninjas! That’s because the DJ, the artist, and hype man are all doing taekwondo!

If you were stranded on a deserted island, what animal would you be?

Probably an eagle for various survival reasons!

Tell us about your best gig in Sac.

I love performing for my people in Sac, but an all-time favorite was our St. Jude benefit show at Harlow’s Night Club. We had a lot of fun and raised money for kids fighting cancer!

Tell us about your worst gig.

One show while doing my taekwondo demo during my set my pants ripped straight down the front! They thought it was part of the show, but I was in trouble … lol … I survived though!

Tell us about yourself.

I am originally from Los Angeles and played basketball for legendary Crenshaw High. I also played for Crossroads High School where I won a State Championship with former NBA All-Star Baron Davis. In college I hooped for the Washington State Cougars and Sac State Hornets. I graduated with a degree in History. I learned taekwondo in Sacramento and founded The Kingdom Martial Arts! We do a martial arts demonstration at all of my shows! One of our black belts “THE JUGGERNAUT” breaks bricks with his head!

What are your musical goals?

My music goals are to one day become a full-time professional artist and really make a positive impact in the music industry. My goals are to inspire the people, sale lots of records, fill up venues, get paid, and have fun doing it!!!

What drives you to keep interviewing even though the music industry can be so harsh?

I love what I do! I’m going to keep making music regardless! Also, it’s all a process, patience is important.

What's next for you?

Working on some new music right now that I’m excited to release soon. Also, will be coming with some new music videos, merch, and show dates soon. We have taekwondo classes going on all week in the Sacramento area, so I encourage people to visit to get started in martial arts. Guaranteed Fun and Guaranteed Results! If I don’t see you in class then hopefully you catch me at a show! much love.
