Is there a central theme to your band's music?

02.16.20

The music is essentially my story. I had a pretty rough upbringing and went through quite a bit growing up. How I dealt with those things and overcame the adversities presented to me resonates in my music. My hope is that my music pushes people to make it through whatever it is that is mentally confining. I hope my songs inspire a will to move forward regardless of what life throws your way.

I was in several bands before, but decided in 2016 to do my own thing and write, record and brand myself as the project Samora. It’s my last name.

Tell us about how you first started gigging.

02.16.20

After playing guitar and singing under my breath for about 17 years, I started piecing songs together and playing acoustic covers at open-mic nights to get over my fear of singing in front of people. After about 10 shows sounding completely horrible, I finished piecing together five complete songs and went out performing them live with some fellow musicians. The rest is history.

Tell us about this creative project. What is it?

02.16.20

It’s art and my tool to essentially connect with other musicians and artists of all genres.
