How do you describe your music to people?

Traditional and not-so-traditional Irish music. Even if you didn't know "Irish" music, you would know our stuff. We sang a lot of it as kids.

Tell us about how the band formed.

Three of the five band members have always been in love with Irish music. It did not take much convincing for the other two to get onboard.

Tell us about your best gig in Sac.

St. Patricks Day 2018 at The Boxing Donkey. Hundreds of people all dancing and singing along; It was a great day!

Haven't had one yet. Now I've jinxed it!

What was the first song you learned to play?

Maybe it was "I'll Tell Me Ma." At our first practice we came with about 10 songs to try.

What's next for the band?

Playing at some of the larger Northern California Celtic fairs and games.

What's the story behind the band name?

With bagpipes and flutes in the band, we thought "Piper's" was a must. "Folly" means lack of good sense. We are musicians so...

Michael Gregory and Gary Blodgett are two that come quickly to mind.

Who are your biggest influences?

The Dubliners, Flogging Molly, The Chieftains, Irish Rovers, The High Kings.

Who first inspired you to play music?

Every member has been playing one or more instruments from a very early age. We love music and the energy we feel from a live performance.
